        Tyra Withers, originally from Youngstown, Ohio, is a licensed cosmetologist in California and a certified trichologist with a deep understanding of the scalp and its care. With a degree in Communications from The Ohio State University, Tyra’s passion for helping others care for their natural hair led her to where she is today.

         Tyra first pursued a creative career as the founder of Creative Captures LLC, a photography company she started, and moved to Los Angeles to follow her dreams of acting and filmmaking. During this journey, she discovered a deep love for locs and natural hair care. What Tyra values most about her work is the artistic expression, the relationships she builds with her clients, and helping them achieve hair growth and scalp health with her natural product line, YoungWood Hair & Body.

YoungWood products are crafted with natural, lightweight ingredients that relieve dry scalps, combat dandruff, and promote healthy hair growth without causing buildup. Tyra’s signature oil and rosewater combination is her go-to method for retwisting locs, ensuring each client's hair receives the nourishment it needs to thrive.

        Her product development journey began after working with a client who suffered from scalp psoriasis. Tyra was determined to create a solution that addressed itchiness, dandruff, dry scalp, and inflammation. The result is YoungWood, a product line that heals, hydrates, and supports hair growth naturally.YoungWood's Story The name YoungWood reflects Tyra’s transition from Youngstown to her dream life in Los Angeles.         When she’s not caring for her clients’ hair, Tyra enjoys traveling, studying her craft, and expressing her creativity through art. She lives by her faith, believing that God is everything and Jesus is above all.
